Depending on which Religion you follow, the word “Scriptures” might mean something different to you:  To Jews, the Torah would be their Scriptures  which is also included in the Bible (Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers and Deuteronomy);  To Christians the Bible is their Scriptures which includes the “Torah” as well as the “Gospels” (Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John which are accepted by the Quran as being from God,  along with the Torah);  To Muslims, their Quran would be their Scriptures, which accepts that the Torah and the Gospels as being from God.

We will be examining and comparing both, the Quran and the Bible, and comparing them to Major Religions that say they follow those Scriptures.  We will be examining the Major Religions as compared to CULTS.

“Webster’s New World College Dictionary” Definition of “CULT”:     1 a ) a system of religious worship or ritual     b ) a quasi-religious group, often living in a colony, with a charismatic leader who indoctrinates members with unorthodox or extremist views, practices, or beliefs    2 a ) devoted attachment to, or extravagant admiration for, a person, principle, or lifestyle, esp. when regarded as a fad [the cult of nudism]     b) the object of such attachment    3 a )  a group of followers; sect

MOST Religions fall under one or more of the definitions of CULT.  We will be examining the Major Religions and their Teachings as compared to their Scriptures.
